The brain can change itself. We have been involved in the study of mindfulness and the possibilities of neuroplasticity for sometime now. After watching the DVD by Dr. Norman Doidge on ” Changing Your Mind” and “The Brain That Changes Itself” it is interesting to read Dr Doidges comments – ” It is a plastic, living organ that can actually change its own structure and function, even into old age. Arguably the most important breakthrough in neuroscience since scientists first sketched out the brain’s basic anatomy, this revolutionary discovery, called neuroplasticity, promises to overthrow the centuries-old notion that the brain is fixed and unchanging.”

The brain is not hard wired, the brain can change itself.  So for the recovery of stroke victims, learning disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and even schizophrenia the latest research into re-wiring the brain to overcome many disorders is blazing a trail into results that are now scientifically proven. The discovery of neuroplasticity and the fact that thoughts can change the structure and function of our brains is a reality.

You will find on this site many posts about thinking, thoughts and the power of the mind. We recommend you either read the books by Dr Norman Doidge or watch the DVD’s to get a complete insight into the findings. It is fascinating knowledge indeed. The brain or mind depending on how you see it has a vast unexplored region that is possibly infinite in it’s true possibilities.

We can re-wire our brains for better results and better life changes. Don’t doubt that for one minute. You can live the life you desire, just believe that is possible. In essence we can teach an old dog new tricks!
